DAY OF WEDDING STATIONERY

Also commonly called Day of Paper, On-the-Day Stationery, or Wedding Ephemera, day-of wedding elements are printed materials intended for use on the wedding day or over the course of the weekend’s events. These include rehearsal and reception dinner menus, bar/cocktail menus or wine lists, ceremony programs, welcome letters and weekend itineraries, seating charts and other way-finding signage, escort and place cards, gift or favor tags and thank you cards.

While they primarily serve as functional items intended to guide guests through a venue, ceremony, meal, or overall schedule, they also play a decorative role in transforming and personalizing the venue spaces and overall experience for your guests. They are often customized to suit both the venue and the conceptual and stylistic direction provided by the event planning and design team. Signage and other large format elements such as seating charts can be designed for site-specific installation (with a particular wall, window, arch or passageway in mind), while smaller items such as menus or place cards are often formatted to suit the tablescape styling and complement the linens, table- and glassware, floral decorations and overall color palette.

The highly intentional and meticulous process of conceptualizing, designing, creating and installing these pieces on the day or weekend, ultimately creates a unique and memorable experience for you and your guests. Beyond their practical functions, these touch points become a tactile expression of gratitude for the friends and family who have gathered (and often traveled) to witness your union.

This page features day-of stationery pieces from each of our wedding collections and other custom events, and hopefully offers a taste of the endless possibilities of custom wedding ephemera. While ephemera - as the name implies, is intended to be short-lived and fleeting, we strive to produce thoughtful pieces that your guests may actually want to keep.

WEDDING MENU DESIGN

Format | Wide range of formats available
Print | Letterpress, blind embossing or debossing, foil stamping, screen-printing, digital

They say that nobody ever remembers the food at your wedding, but we’d like to believe they’ll never forget the menu. Flat or folded, vertical or horizontal, minimal or bold, and with just about any color and print technique you can imagine…our wedding menus offer a wide range of styles to suit the mood of any big day…and even, if necessary, the precise size of your plates. Warning: (because this happens to us when we’re designing these…) these pictures may get you a little hungry.

RECEPTION COCKTAIL MENUS & WINE LISTS

Format | Wide range of formats available
Print techniques | Small quantity items are usually printed digitally, or we submit print-ready files to your event planner to manage production locally.

After a few negronis, and amidst the mirth of love and laughter and family and friends…let’s be honest: it’s unlikely that any of your guests are going to turn away from a conversation, lean on the bar and actually read something. Which is why we like to treat cocktail and bar menus as more of a styling element…a mini work of art to complement your beautifully styled cocktail, whiskey or champagne bar. Also, it has happened more than once, that a groom who was relatively quiet on the Save the Dates and Invitations suddenly tells us he’s a sommelier and really cares about the wines. So, we know how to give a finely curated wine list the delectable typographic treatment it deserves. Santé!

Typographic bar menu where the vertical cocktail headings "NEGRONI, MANHATTAN, etc" are randomly broken up to list each cocktails ingredients horizontally in between. It is as though the words have hiccups, but the layout is striking and elegant.
Three tall slim menus with the bold vertical headings "FEAST," "WINES," and "NIBBLES." The negative space above or below the headings is used to list the wine or food items in small lowercase type.

IN A WORLD FULL

OF TEMPORARY THINGS,

YOU ARE A PERPETUAL FEELING.

CEREMONY PROGRAMS & DESTINATION WEDDING ITINERARIES

Format | Wide range of formats available; single- or double-sided, folded, or booklet
Print techniques | Letterpress, blind embossing or debossing, foil stamping, screen-printing, digital

A wedding ceremony program or order of service is quite a traditional and at times antiquated element…especially in cases where couples have decided to reinvent the format of the ceremony altogether, or want to be eco- or budget-conscious and avoid all the pieces of paper that tend to get left behind, lost, or discarded later that day. But they can also serve as thoughtful and beautiful guides through the rituals you have chosen to include in your ceremony - or more simply, an easy-to-follow itinerary through all the parties (and dress codes!) you’ve lined up for the weekend.

From a small postcard or folded piece that can fit in a suit pocket or clutch (and get taken home instead of thrown away!), to a long hand-stitched booklet describing the meaning of each elaborate cultural or religious ritual (perhaps in multiple languages?), to a large single piece of linen hanging in a beautiful ancient arch…we love to get cerebral about ceremonies, and put the effort in ephemera to ensure it leaves a lasting impression.

WEDDING THANK YOU CARDS

Format | 105x135mm (approx 4x5in) with corresponding envelopes and optional printing of monogram or return address on envelope flaps, packaged in a custom keepsake linen box. Available in sets of 100 with option to print multiple designs within each set.
Print techniques | Letterpress, blind embossing or debossing, foil stamping, screen-printing, digital

Whether your guests have traveled across the seas, bought you glassware, contributed to your White-Lotus inspired honeymoon, or simply dusted off their tuxes to attend your black tie affair - thanking them before, during and/or after the event is basically mandatory as far as we’re concerned. A handwritten note or letter on beautifully crafted letterpress stationery is the simplest, most affordable, and most meaningful expression of gratitude there is. The icing on the cake? You’ll feel good doing it too. Don’t love your handwriting? Ask nicely, and we may write them too - at least for a handful of dear family and wedding party members.

ESCORT CARDS & PLACE CARDS

Format | Wide range of styles and formats available
Printing | Digital printing or submission of print-file

Figuring out where everyone will sit is sometimes the biggest challenge, but your guests shouldn’t ever the sense the labor that went into the process. Small, minimal, simple, and beautiful place cards work to make it all look flawless and effortless.

WEDDING TABLE NUMBERS

Format | Approx. 4x9in, can be customized
Print | Screen-printed or digital

Amidst dreamy tablescapes, lush florals and elaborate dishes you spent weeks carefully selecting, table numbers often offer a moment of elegance and simplicity. As both a functional and a styling element, they’re almost like a deep breath, a subtle reminder that it’s all as easy as one, two, three. Find your table, take a seat, and let’s celebrate love.

WEDDING SEATING CHARTS

Format | Large format 1.5m (5ft) wide fine linen, length determined by content and height of installation location.

Please note we also design custom seating charts and escort card displays for site-specific installation, in collaboration with your venue or wedding planning and styling team. Feel free to tell us more about your venue and styling and let’s dream up something new. Custom geometric boards hanging from the side of a tent…color block panels installed in the ruined windows of a chateau’s old chapel…modern minimal decals applied to large floor-length mirrors - we’ve probably done it, and we can do it all.
